C’River: Inauguration Of Board: Commissioner Tasks SUBEB On Service Delivery (Photos)

Cross River Commissioner for Quality Education, Hon. Godwin Amanke, has charged members of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to see their re-appointment as an opportunity to justify the confidence reposed in them by Governor Ben Ayade.
Hon. Amanke stated that the re-appointment of the Board was also due to the excellent performance during their first stint on the SUBEB saddle.
According to him, “because of your excellent performance that is why you are returned to the Board, all we owe the Governor is the justification of the confidence reposed in us. Project Cross River belongs to all of us, I know that you are going to double your efforts and make us proud not just as a State, but as a Country.”
Responding, the Chairman State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Stephen Odey, thanked the Governor on behalf of his team for finding them worthy for a re-appointment.
In his words “I thank His Excellency the Governor who deemed it necessary to re-appoint all of us back to the Board. I think history has been made in Cross River State. This is the first time the Governor will re-appoint all the Board Members. Convey our gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency.”
Dr Odey assured Cross Riverians of the Board’s continued commitment to the betterment of basic education in Cross River State.
Speaking earlier, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Quality Education, Mrs Aniedi Ekpenyong commended the Board Chairman for the synergy between State Universal Basic Education Board and the Ministry, while calling for more collaboration in order to enhance the educational system in the State.
“I know he led the former Board very well and he is going to do it again,” she concluded.
Other members of the Board include Mrs Nancy Awukam, Board Member I, Mr Inyang Nyong Okon, Board Member II, Mrs Juliana Nkpe Bisong, Board Member III, while Mr Cyril Itam is to serve as Board Secretary.
