In a bold reconciliatory move, the National Women Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Betta Edu has synergised with her sister, Barr Mary Ekpere-Ita as she noted that Cross River State is good to go.
Dr Edu, who was hosted to a dinner organised by Barr Ekpere-Ita to honour the new APC National Women Leader in Abuja, yesterday. She also doubled as representative of Cross River State Governor, Sir Ben Ayade.
Barr Ekpere-Ita also used the Thank You event to appreciate her dogged supporters for their energy and unwavering commitment towards her National Women Leader aspiration at the just concluded APC National Convention 2022.
Shortly after Dr Edu arrived the venue of the dinner in company of High Chief Higgins Peters, they met Barr Ekpere-Ita and held closed door session together where they discussed issues of mutual benefits geared towards strengthening their bonds and the unity of women in Cross River State in particular and Nigeria at large.
Barr Ekpere-Ita used the event to formally congratulate her sister, Dr Betta Edu over her victory as the APC National Women Leader.
In a show of reconciliation, the women leaders wined, dined and danced together to the cheers of guests present.
It would be recalled that, Barr Ekpere-Ita was one of the top contenders for the position of APC National Women Leader at the APC National Convention but withdrew from the race in the interest of the unity of the party and paved the way for the overwhelming victory of Dr Betta Edu, who emerged as the youngest National Women Leader of the largest political party.
Some of the women leaders present include wife of the Minister of State, Petroleum, Mrs Timipre Sylva and the newly elected APC Zonal Women Leader (South-South), Miss Caroline Owugha amongst others.
