
CRSG Commissions 7 Strategic microprojects in the Northern Senatorial District of the State

In a bid to provide access to improved economic and social infrastructure to select communities in hard to reach areas, the Cross River State Government over the weekend, commissioned a total of seven strategic micro projects in the Northern Senatorial District of the State under the auspices of the Cross River State Community and Social Development Agency (CRS-CSDA).
The State Commissioner for International Development and Cooperation, Dr. Inyang Asibong, who commissioned the project on behalf of the State Governor, Sen. (Prof.) Ben Ayade, noted that the projects are strategic as they have been designed to have a direct and immediate impact on improving the well-deing and livelihood of the rural dwellers. She added that the area of focus for the CSDA interventions include Health, Transportation, Education, Rural Electrification, potable water supply, Socio-economic development, natural resources and community housing.
The project which include the construction and equipping of skill acquisition center, provision of electricity, construction and equipping healthpost with staff quarters, construction and renovation of solar-powered borehole systems, and the construction of culverts with backfilling, met the World Bank specifications and global standards. The project was also sponsored and supported by the Chief of Staff to the CRS Governor, Hon Martins Orim through the GFO Orim Foundation.
Also in attendance at the commissioning were top government functionaries including Hon. Martin Orim, Chief of Staff to the Governor; Mrs Asabe Ugbe, Vice Chairman, Obudu LGA; Mr. Toni Ikpeme, Board Chairman, CRS-CSDA; Dr. Josephine Ayuk, CSDA M&E Officer who represented the GM CSDA, Mr Fidel Udie. They had an array of community leaders and other stakeholders who spared no thought in appreciating the government for the strategic projects, towards improving the livelihood of their people.
